EMMETT ROSSI
MALE | 26 | APRIL 16 | BISEXUAL |
SINGLE | CAPTAIN | EMIL | 6'2" |
personality
Social. Emmett enjoys socializing with others, especially his crew mates and Emil.
Confident. After him feeling incompetent in the past about going up a rank or two, he's came to learn that he should trust himself and his abilities more often. Emil also helped with this.
Assertive. He stands his ground, with both his crew, and outsiders. If he barks out an order, he expects everyone to listen unless they give him a good reason why they're shouldn't.
Materialistic. Like most pirates, he values treasure. Especially for it's price on the market, illegal or legal. Which ever one will catch him the biggest price tag.
Stubborn. He's a stubborn one alright. He clings to beliefs until someone can prove him why he shouldn't. And that takes a lot of evidence as long as no one life is at stake.
Serious. He's pretty serious, often not seeing the light side of things, only the dark and gritty.
Practical. He's not one much for theories.
Loyal. What could a pirate, especially a captain, be without their crew after all?
Selfish. He is pretty selfish, often concerned with his own agendas.
Competitive. He enjoys competition, but he can get really into it. Sometimes too into it. Luckily he usually isn't a sore loser.
Contemplative. He can sometimes spend hours in thought, just thinking about things he's heard, seen or done. He often reflects on his past mistakes so he'll learn not o make them again.
Adventurous. Like most pirates, he likes adventure. Especially if it leads to materialistic gain.
Smug. He can be pretty smug sometimes, appraising himself on his successes.

biography
Emmett was born on the another pirate, with his parents both being pirates. He grew up learning the ropes of being a pirate, and he wouldn't haven't it any other way. He loves the freedom that comes with the open sea, where no laws can touch him. Aside from learning the ropes of being a pirate, he also focused on learning necromancy, as he admired the Revenants and wished to be apart of them when he grew older. Luckily for him, he has strong senses and always has had strong senses when it came to the paranormal. His parents taught him from a young age to use his senses, and that's where the strength comes from.
One night, when he was just 10, his crew was on land, and he had heard about the Revenants being in the same area and sneaked out, never to return. He did find the Revenants, particularly the captain in the local pub. He spilled his guts out completely about his admiration of them, his skills in necromancy, and how he grew up learning he ropes. The captain was impressed enough, not to mention drunk enough, to take the boy in his crew per his request. He went on to have more necromancy training so he'd be powerful and skilled enough to handle a bound spirit.
At the age of 14, he finally got his first spirit bound to him. The spirit's name was Emil, and they've been with each other since. They complemented each other well, and had each other's backs no matter what. While they sometimes can get into stubborn arguments, they still get along real good. It's likely that the two will remain bound to each other for the rest of Emmett's living life. As for them sticking with each other during the afterlife, that's currently unknown.
By the age of 21 he became the first mate after the last first mate got kicked from the position. He was liked well enough, he was useful enough, he had good necromancy skills, he could handle a rowdy crew and he was just the perfect level of aggressiveness. Why wouldn't he be picked to be first mate? Well, he just wasn't ready for the responsibility. He didn't pass it up, but he knew it was going to be very hard on him. And it was, for the first few years. He eventually got used to it after his third year of being first mate.
When he was 24, they ended up in a fight with another gang of pirates, and his captain was already deathly injured. He was in the captain's quarters, and he was silently killed in his sleep. This was the result of an attack by a new but formidable opponent, the Leviathans. One of the pirates of the other crew ordered their venomous snake to go after the captain, as the only reason why the Leviathan attacked was to take out their captain, and then hopefully next to take over their ship. They never found out he died until the aftermath, when they went to go tell him about what happened to the quarter master. The quarter master was also killed that night. He died protecting Emmett and some other crew members. It was a great and respected sacrifice, something that inspired the crew to fight even harder. It was a long battle, but Leviathan eventually retreated. Luckily, there was only a total of four casualties. Hell, Emmett could've been one of them, seeing as he ended up with a bad stab wound. But at least it wasn't a big hit on the crew. They got plenty of casualties on Leviathan as well. Emmett was quickly treated when they had the chance, and he survived it.
But then it dawned on him. That all left the role of captain to him, and he was in stunned. He wasn't sure if he could take it, he wasn't sure if he was ready for something like this. He was only 24 after all, he was still young. He began to grow self-conscious about his abilities, but Emil assured him he could do it. Emmett still felt incompetent to be the captain, but took on the rank anyways. After all, everyone was depending on him now, the one they'd come to known as their precious first mate, who was now captain. After a year, he began to feel he was competent enough to run the ship with only a few minor issues. And he still feels that way to this day. He is now 26.
